August 21, MINSK . The accused in the case of the attack on the employees of the Belarusian embassy in the UK caused damage to the facade of the embassy building in the amount of more than Br142 thousand.
Four people are accused - Bogovkov, Zuev, Ryabushko and Napreenko. All of them, citizens of Belarus, are accused of inciting social hatred and discord, intentionally damaging someone else's property on an especially large scale, two of them are also accused of violence against officials who performed official duties out of revenge for their performance.
Being ablealcoholic intoxication , members of the informal politicized migrant group of immigrants from Belarus "Nadzeya", formed under the influence of Internet resources, on December 19, 2021, from 18.00 to 20.00 local time, threw chicken eggs at the facade of the embassy building in London . As a result, it was damaged: fatal stains, blotches, smudges appeared on the facade of the building. The damage to Belarus amounted to 4897.68 BV, that is, it was caused on an especially large scale.
Embassy employees were subjected to physical violence. In particular, one of the victims was punched in the face while trying to detain the accused, who was trying to escape from the scene of the crime. From the impact, he fell on the roadway and temporarily lost consciousness.
According to the indictment, Bogovkov and Zuev, in order to demonstrate their imaginary superiority, used obscene language, shouted out verbal insults, pointedly threatened to use physical violence. At least three chicken eggs were thrown at one of the victims, hitting his arm and back. An embassy employee also received blows to the knee joint, chest and HEAD.
In addition, Zuev defiantly installed an offensive installation near the building of the Belarusian Embassy in the UK in the afternoon of the same day.
Napreenko filmed everything that happened on the phone. The video recording was then intended, if necessary, to be distributed on the Internet for popularization, false glorification, and the formation of a hostile socio-psychological mood among a wide range of people. It was assumed that the record would be discussed by radical people, including citizens of Belarus who had left for the UK.
As noted in the indictment, the defendants committed crimes, experiencing criminal permissiveness, formed under the influence of Internet resources, TELEGRAM channels, chats and other extremist information sources that artificially exaggerate protest moods.
The defendants did not appear in COURT . The case is considered in the order of special proceedings. Witnesses were summoned to court on August 22.
The testimonies of victims living in London are read out in their absence. Appropriate statements have been received about this. The court recognized the non-appearance of the victims at the court session as valid.
