If there were 145 of them in the first eight months of last year, then for the same period of 2023 - 134. This information was voiced at a meeting of the commission for the implementation of Presidential Directive No. 1 in the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, BELTA has learned.

"The total number of injuries in the region for the eight months as of August 25 is 134 accidents. Last year there were 145. The ratio of fatal cases is 7 to 10, resulting in serious injuries is 40 to 51. At the moment, three cases of injuries in the state have been recorded.ALCOHOL intoxication , last year there were twice as many. There is a significant decrease due to the fact that mobile groups pay special attention to organizing and conducting pre-shift medical examinations and examinations," said Sergei Anufriev, First Deputy HEAD of the Vitebsk Regional Department of the State Labor Inspectorate.

In the agro-industrial complex organizations of the northern region, there were three fatal cases and eight cases that resulted in serious industrial injuries. "As of August 25, during the month (to ensure safe working conditions during the grain harvesting campaign in the agro-industrial complex organizations of the Vitebsk region. - BELTA note), no accidents were registered. Specifically in the field and during field work," he emphasized.

Three fatal accidents were caused by violations of safety requirements by the victims themselves, who were officials. Eight incidents (five of which were investigated), which resulted in serious industrial injuries, occurred due to failure of managers and specialists to fulfill their occupational safety obligations and violation of occupational safety instructions by the victim himself or another employee. One of these cases was recorded against the background of a short-term deterioration in the person's HEALTH, and two more - due to personal carelessness.

The overwhelming majority of cases occur due to an insufficiently high level of industrial labor discipline at the local level. "Not all managers respond quickly to the commission's comments. Such managers need to be discussed separately," said Deputy Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Vyacheslav Durnov.

"In general, based on the results of inspections by mobile groups over the first half of the year, about 10 thousand violations were identified, 50% of which were in agricultural organizations. And this figure is repeated almost year after year," Sergei Anufriev specified.

Vitebsk Region is almost finished harvesting grain crops, ahead is the harvest of corn, soil preparation and forage preparation, Vyacheslav Durnov reminded. "The intensity of this work will increase, that is, the tasks set before agricultural organizations require efforts from them," he added.

A month of ensuring safe working conditions during the grain harvesting campaign in the organizations of the agro-industrial complex of the Vitebsk region is held from July 24 to August 31. During the raids, working groups inspect fields, plots, agricultural facilities and sites at all enterprises of the agro-industrial complex participating in the harvest. At a meeting of the regional executive committee, it was decided to make a proposal to extend the month to ensure more efficient work.

Since the beginning of the month, working groups have inspected 77 agro-industrial complex organizations, where 157 facilities have been checked. 729 violations of labor safety issues have been identified.
