February 9, MINSK. The most capacious and promising markets for EXPORT reorientation are RUSSIA and CHINA . This was stated to a BelTA correspondent by Minister of Economy Alexander Chervyakov.

"The effective decisions taken by the government to diversify trade directions and reorient logistics schemes helped to achieve a record foreign trade balance - plus $4.3 billion in 2022. A surplus is observed both in trade in services (plus $4.1 billion at the end of the year) and in trade in goods (plus $172.4 million). Losses in the markets of Western countries and Ukraine were compensated by more than 80% with deliveries to friendly countries," said Alexander Chervyakov.

According to him, the most capacious and promising markets for export reorientation are Russia and China. “Exports to Russia increased almost 1.4 times. The share in Russian imports approached 9% from 5.5% in 2021. At the end of the year, we reached a record $26.1 billion in exports,” the minister noted. “Supplies to China increased 1.8 times, reaching $ 1.6 billion. We increased the export of potash fertilizers, poultry MEAT, beef, rapeseed oil, dairy products and other goods."

More than 170 Belarusian producers of dairy, meat, fish, confectionery, ALCOHOL and other food products are accredited to work on the Chinese market. Work is underway to obtain admission for new suppliers.

E-commerce tools are actively used. In July 2022, the first National Electronic Pavilion of Belarusian Goods was opened on the JD.com and Douyin platforms. More than 60,000 orders have been placed for over 50,000 buyers. The opening of Belarusian pavilions at another seven electronic venues in China has been agreed .
