January 3, Gomel. The regional State Traffic Inspectorate officers have identified more than 1,500 traffic violations on the region's roads in three days, BelTA learned from the agitation and propaganda department of the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Gomel Regional Executive Committee.

Over the past three days, control over compliance with traffic rules by drivers and pedestrians has been tightened on the roads of the southeastern region. "Particular attention was paid to the physical condition of drivers, the presence of a driver's license and compliance with the speed limit. The regional State Traffic Inspectorate officers identified more than 1,500 traffic violations," the agitation and propaganda department reported.

Thus, 15 drivers were detained for driving while intoxicated.ALCOHOL intoxication , 41 drivers did not have a driving license, 31 exceeded the permitted speed limit. 53 drivers did not give way to pedestrians, 70 drivers transported children without using child restraints. Also, 425 violations were identified on the part of pedestrian road users, of which 78 pedestrians were intoxicated.

As emphasized by the regional State Traffic Inspectorate, only strict compliance with traffic regulations will help prevent accidents and save human lives.
