Since the beginning of this year, the format of clinical examination has changed in Belarus. And if earlier it was aimed at identifying chronic diseases and their further treatment, now the main goal is to identify risk factors for human HEALTH. New approaches, questioning and promotion of a healthy lifestyle - now the clinical examination looks exactly like this. And, as health professionals guarantee, you can undergo this procedure and get results in just one day. BelTA correspondents went to the Mogilev Polyclinic No. 8 to find out in practice what the updated format of medical examination looks like and what it is for.
We meet Anastasia Tikhonenko from Mogilev at the clinic. Today, together with her, we will go through all the stages of medical examination. The woman said that the day before the medical examination, she received a call from the clinic and was warned that she had to come on an empty stomach. Appointments can be made by telephone or in person. The patient can independently complete the questionnaire on the single portal of the National Center for Electronic Services. To do this, a person must have an electronic digital seal or a biometric passport. And besides this, any DOCTOR, doctor's assistant, nurse, to whom the patient came for an appointment, can also conduct a survey.According to Natalya Blinnikova, deputy chief physician of the Mogilev Polyclinic No. 8, every person over 18 years of age should undergo medical examination. "It is important not to confuse medical examinations and medical examinations. These are two different areas in the medical examination of a patient. A medical examination is a determination of whether a person can perform this or that job, hold a certain position. Usually, the work of such people is associated with dangerous or harmful working conditions at work. At the same time, medical examination covers the entire adult population, regardless of their type of activity. Thus, people aged 18 to 39 years old should undergo a medical examination once every three years.People over 40 - once a year. This allows you to control the general condition of a person , monitor changes in his body. This approach allows you to prevent the development of the disease,
Meanwhile, Anastasia Tikhonenko goes to the medical examination room for an appointment with the HEAD of the prevention department, Anastasia Sedich. The doctor gives the woman a special questionnaire - this begins the whole process of medical examination.
“It is very important that a person honestly answers the questions posed. This will determine which aspects of health need to be given special attention. The questionnaire contains four blocks of questions that relate to the cardiovascular system, oncological diseases, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and diabetes mellitus, - she says. - The questions are structured in such a way that solid negative answers are almost impossible. With the rare exception of an absolutely healthy person, for example, at the age of 18. But the older a person gets, the higher the risk factors for developing diseases become."
After the patient fills out his questionnaire by hand, his data is transferred to a computer program that calculates which of the indicated areas may be more vulnerable. Depending on the identified risk factors, both at the age of 18 to 39 years and from 39 years older, patients undergo a complete blood count, a complete urinalysis, determine the level of glucose in the blood, and also determine the level of cholesterol. In addition, the patient is given an ECG. For people aged 40 and older, intraocular pressure is additionally measured. To do this, the medical staff has all the necessary equipment - it is mobile and easily transported if necessary.
On the day of the medical examination, the patient receives a referral for a blood test and goes to the laboratory. That is why it is important to come to the clinic on an empty stomach. After passing the analysis, the patient returns to the medical examination room. Here he is measured pressure, weight, height, waist circumference and determine the body mass index.
The results of medical examination can become the basis for a further and already more in-depth examination of a person in the event that any deviations in the normal functioning of the body were found. And if no problems were identified, the person will be given recommendations. "We talk about how important a healthy lifestyle, a varied diet is for a person: an adult needs to consume about 400 g of vegetables and fruits per day. Follow the regime of work and rest, devote about 30 minutes to physical activity per day. It is worth noting that everyone We urge our patients to follow a healthy lifestyle: quit smoking and drinking ALCOHOL, spend more time outdoors, play sports. All this is an excellent prevention of many diseases," says Anastasia Sedich.
Anastasia Tikhonenko successfully passed medical examination. The woman noted that the great convenience is that almost everything can be done in one office and in one day. "Medical examination allows you to monitor your health. After all, a disease is much easier to prevent than to treat. In order to recognize the risks in time, one cannot do without medical workers. It seems to me that people should feel responsible for their health," she said. If a person is overweight, we all understand that it brings with it an additional burden on the cardiovascular system, hormonal failure can occur, joint pain may appear, and a person should be interested in putting himself in order, because this will avoid other complications."
According to Natalia Blinnikova, the new format of clinical examination will be convenient for residents of both Mogilev and the whole country. "It has been said many times, but it still does not lose its relevance - it is easier to prevent a disease than to treat it at a different stage. And therefore, medical examination will help us strengthen the early diagnosis of common diseases, increase the attention of citizens to ourselves," she noted. "The country has created all the conditions for receiving quality medical care at all levels. We have qualified specialists, modern medical equipment, and all the necessary action algorithms have been developed. But with all this, it is very important that the person himself does not remain indifferent to his health, monitor him."
