Breeders of Kuzbass and Altai will be engaged in breeding cattle and horses

At the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Governor of Kuzbass Sergey Tsivilev and HEAD of the Altai Territory Viktor Tomenko signed an action plan for an agreement on trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation between the regions until 2024.
The document specifies joint activities in healthcare, pharmaceutical industry, education and science, tourism, food and processing sectors, biotechnology and agriculture.
“Altai Territory is a strategic partner of Kuzbass. The joint development strategy developed to date confirms this fact. I am sure that the further strengthening and expansion of comprehensive and mutually beneficial ties will contribute to the creation of new interregional cooperative ties and projects,” Governor Sergei Tsivilev said.
The agreement includes selection work for breeding dairy and beef herds of cows, as well as breeding horses of the Novoaltayskaya and Oryol trotting breeds as a special block. Such joint work will allow the livestock breeders of the regions to avoid dependence on the seed material of foreign breeders and thereby strengthen food independence.
