Don agrarians sowed more than 90% of the planned areas with spring crops.
In the Rostov region, the sowing of spring crops and other field work is being completed, this was discussed in the government of the region at a meeting on achieving the target indicators of the agro-industrial complex.
“On the Don, the sowing campaign is entering the finish line, the region's farmers have sown more than 90% of the planned areas,” said Viktor Goncharov, First Deputy Governor of the Rostov Region. – The past rains had a positive effect on the growth and development of all crops. Now the weather has stabilized, which favorably affects the pace of spring field work.”
Recall that it is planned to sow about 1.8 million hectares of spring crops in the region. In general, in 2022, the sown area of all agricultural crops should be about 4.8 million hectares.
According to the Don Ministry of Agriculture and Food, grain and leguminous crops have been sown on more than 605,000 hectares, which exceeds 93% of the plan. Sowings of industrial crops today account for 874 thousand hectares, or more than 90% of the planned areas. Potatoes and vegetables are sown on 90% of the area.
In addition, the final stage of work on fertilization. According to the latest data, 347 thousand tons of mineral fertilizers were introduced, which amounted to 107% of the plan.
At the meeting, it was noted that state financing of farmers contributed to the operational pace of the sowing campaign. So, up to 1.8 billion rubles, or 22.2% of the annual limit, has been brought to farmers, and more than twice the amount of state support brought to the same date in 2021. In addition, the mechanism of preferential short-term lending to farmers also contributes to field work. Taking into account additional funds, the limit of the Rostov region amounted to almost 2.9 billion rubles. To date, the Ministry of Agriculture of RUSSIA has agreed on preferential loans for the Don agrarians in the amount of 13.6 billion rubles, banks have issued loans for more than 7 billion rubles.
“State support is an important tool for the development of the industry, and the results of recent years in the Don agro-industrial complex clearly demonstrate that assistance to farmers contributes to ensuring the food security of the Don region and the whole country,” Viktor Goncharov emphasized. - So, the level of self-sufficiency of the Rostov region in grain in recent years is 450%. The course of the current sowing campaign allows us to hope for a decent harvest.”
