Spring field work began in the Nizhny Novgorod region. This was announced by the Minister of Agriculture and Food Resources of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Nikolai Denisov.
“Field work began in the southern and central zones of the Nizhny Novgorod region. Farmers have started mineral fertilizing and harrowing of winter crops and perennial grasses, which are aimed at forming a high yield,” Nikolay Denisov noted.
According to the operational data of the regional Ministry of Agriculture, as of April 5, 2023, winter crops were fed on an area of ​​12.2 thousand hectares (5% of the plan), perennial crops - on 6 thousand hectares (3%). Harrowing of winter crops - on 0.1 thousand hectares, perennial grasses - on 3.1 thousand hectares.
“The farms of the region are preparing agricultural machinery and seed material for the upcoming sowing. As soon as warm weather sets in in the region, the sowing units will go out into the fields. This year, it is planned to sow about 1.1 million hectares of agricultural land with various agricultural crops,” Nikolay Denisov added.
Recall that in 2023, about 5.4 billion rubles of subsidies were allocated to support agricultural enterprises and the development of rural areas of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, of which 1.7 billion have already been brought to agricultural producers.
