The first phase of a livestock complex for 685 heads was put into operation in the Verkhovazhsky district of the Vologda region

Since 2019, the project has been implemented by the Nizhne-Kuloe agricultural consumer cooperative. The object will be launched in two stages. To date, the construction of a cowshed for 300 heads with a milking parlor has been completed. In the future - the construction of another cowshed for 300 heads and a maternity ward for 85 heads.
The total planned cost of the project is 295 million rubles, of which 165 million are expenses for the construction of the first stage. Currently, preparatory work is underway to start the next construction.
Today, the number of employees at the facility put into operation is five people - specialists have been transferred from other divisions of the enterprise. After the commissioning of the second phase, the number of employees will be increased to ten through additional recruitment.
“Implementation of the first stage of the investment project made it possible to create a modern facility using new technologies in dairy cattle breeding: loose housing of cows with a modern milking parlor, with computerization of milking processes. In the building of the barn, a polymer coating of the fodder table was installed, automatic drinking bowls, carding equipment were installed. Mats are provided in the animal recreation area, the preparation and distribution of feed mixtures is carried out by a mixer - feeder. In addition, administrative and amenity premises, a sanitary and veterinary checkpoint were built,” said Vladimir Astafyev, chairman of the Nizhne-Kuloe SEC.
As part of the program "Integrated Development of Rural Territories", last year the collective farm built a wooden individual residential building with a total area of ​​168.5 square meters. meters. This is the first facility in the Vologda Oblast built using subsidies for financial support in the construction of housing provided under a lease agreement. The amount of financial assistance from the budgets of various levels amounted to more than 3.5 million rubles. SPK Nizhne-Kuloe also took part in the construction. The company's expenses amounted to almost 3 million rubles.

For the development of the agricultural sector, the Government of the region provides comprehensive support, including subsidies for the production of MILK, MEAT, support for the production of industrial crops, construction and modernization of agricultural facilities. The implementation of this investment project will increase milk production, improve its quality, and create optimal conditions for keeping animals,” said Deputy Governor Mikhail Glazkov.
The Nizhne-Kuloe collective farm is an agricultural enterprise specializing in dairy cattle breeding, with the breeding of cattle of the Kholmogory breed, is the city-forming enterprise of the Verkhovazhsky district. The number of livestock as of September 1, 2022 is 1297 heads, including 465 cows (the level of the previous year).
According to the results of last year, it ranks first in the regional ranking in terms of gross milk yield, number of cows and productivity of the dairy herd. In terms of milk yield per cow, the enterprise ranks sixth in the regional ranking.
