Fiber flax harvesting has begun in the Tomsk Region

In the Asinovsky district of the Tomsk region, the pulling of fiber flax began. The total area under crops of this agricultural crop in the region is 648 hectares.

The main areas are located in the Asinovsky district, where Tomsky Len LLC is engaged in the cultivation of fiber flax.

25 hectares were cultivated here in two days. 5 units of equipment are working on the fields, all machine operators are involved. According to Alexander Yermolin, foreman of OOO Tomsk Len, the harvesting of fiber flax has its own technological features. First, harvesters collect flax straw. it must be kept for a month. Then it is twisted into rolls and sent for processing - to the flax mill.

- Now we are harvesting flax intended for fiber. It is harvested at the beginning of the yellow ripeness phase in a limited time - 10-12 days. Flax for seeds is harvested in the phase of yellow ripeness in 6-8 days. We will start collecting flax for seeds at the end of August. Failure to meet harvesting deadlines leads to yield losses, both seeds and fiber. The work ahead of us is not easy. Due to rains, winds and hail, the flax fell heavily, which makes it difficult to conduct the technological process correctly, - Alexander Yermolin explained.
