Food production increased in the Tambov region

According to the Department of Agriculture of the Tambov Region, from January to November 2021, the food production index increased in the region.

For 11 months of this year, food industry enterprises shipped goods of their own production, as well as performed work for an amount exceeding 131.6 billion rubles.

The largest increase in production in January-November 2021 was noted in the FLOUR milling sector. During this period, wheat flour was produced in the region by almost 14% more than in 11 months of last year (438.5 thousand tons). The production of confectionery products increased by 12% (31.8 thousand tons). Semi-finished MEAT products were produced by 9.5% more than last year (105.1 thousand tons). Almost 7.5% more in the region began to produce meat and edible by-products of poultry (260.5 thousand tons). The growth in the production of cattle meat, pork, lamb amounted to 4.5% (119 thousand tons).

The increase in the production of enterprises of the food and processing industry in the Tambov region is due to the modernization of capacities and the use of the latest technologies.

The HEAD of the region, Maxim Yegorov, believes that one of the most important production factors now is compliance with previously taken measures aimed at preventing the spread of a new CORONAVIRUS infection at enterprises.
