This year, a record harvest of fruit and berry products has been grown in the organized sector of the region - over 74 thousand tons. The gross harvest of fruits and berries is 35.5% higher than last year, when 54.6 thousand tons were received in the organized sector.
Most of it falls on pome fruits: in 2021, 72.6 thousand tons of apples were harvested. This is 36% more than last year. Also this year, the harvest of berries increased - 1.4 thousand tons (1.3 thousand in 2020) and cherries - 20 tons (15 tons in 2020).
The growth in production volumes was ensured, first of all, due to the high rates of laying modern intensive orchards. As of January 1, 2021, the total area of perennial plantations in the region was 6.5 thousand hectares, including intensive gardens - 2.3 thousand hectares. More than 2 thousand of them were laid down in the last 8 years. The total area of fruit-bearing orchards is 4.2 thousand hectares. In 2021, another 400 hectares of perennial plantings were planted, of which 380 hectares are intensive gardens. It should be noted that the collection of fruits from 1 hectare in the intensive garden exceeds the harvest from the usual one by 5-7 times.
The active development of horticulture in the region is facilitated by state support measures, among which are subsidies for uprooting, laying and caring for perennial fruit and berry plantations. From 2013 to 2020, Lipetsk farmers received 1.3 billion rubles from the federal and regional budgets for these purposes. In 2021, more than 280 million rubles have already been allocated for the establishment and maintenance of perennial plantings.
The state also compensates for the direct costs incurred for the creation and modernization of such agro-industrial complex facilities as fruit storage facilities.
