In the Novgorod region, the value of agricultural exports increased by 8.2% over the first five months of this year.

As part of the federal project "Export of Agricultural Products," part of the national project "International Cooperation and EXPORT," the Ministry of Agriculture of the Novgorod Region held a regular meeting on developing the export potential of agricultural and food products in the region.
Representatives of the regional Ministry of Agriculture, JSC Laktis, OJSC Velikonovgorodsky Myasnoy Dvor, LLC Novgorodsky Bacon, LLC Novgorodprodukt, LLC Delta-Stix, LLC Aurora Borealis, LLC NBN-Plombir, and LLC Valdai Zhemchug participated in the meeting. "
As of June 1 of this year, agricultural exports from the Novgorod Region amounted to $ 15.9 million . Export value from January to May 2025 increased by 8.2% compared to the same period last year," said Sergey Shirokov, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Novgorod Region.
He noted that the growth was primarily due to the sale of cake to Turkey and Cyprus, carried out by the trading company Novgorodprodukt LLC. SUGAR products account for the largest share of exports to CHINA , Uzbekistan , Armenia, and Turkey.
"To quickly and effectively address issues related to agricultural exports, we are working with the Federal State Budgetary Institution Agroexport, the Russian Export Center, and the Novgorod Export Support Center, and we are identifying potential buyers for our products. Exporters are also being encouraged to refocus on new markets, such as the Eurasian Economic Union , Arab States, and Asian countries," said Sergei Shirokov.
During the meeting, participants discussed mechanisms for state support for export-oriented enterprises, made proposals for improving cooperation between executive authorities and businesses to achieve the goals of developing agricultural exports in the region, and discussed current issues.
Summing up the meeting, Sergei Shirokov noted that developing the export potential of agricultural products is a priority for the Novgorod Region Ministry of Agriculture.
