The harvesting of grain crops, which is nearing completion, as well as the issues of acceptance, transportation and harvest of the current year, were discussed by the participants of the operational headquarters, which took place on September 22 under the chairmanship of the HEAD of the Ministry of Agriculture of the region Roman Kovalsky.
“The harvested grain crop in the fields of the region exceeded the average annual indicators. We plan to collect about 6 million 400 thousand tons. Not a single ton of harvested grain should be lost,” Roman Kovalsky stressed.
According to the operational data of the regional Ministry of Agriculture, 5 million 689 thousand tons of grain crops were harvested in the region, of which 4 million 346 thousand tons of winter cereals with an average yield of 35.4 centners per hectare, including winter wheat 4 million 168 thousand tons .
Corn harvested 28.8 thousand tons, sunflower harvested 4.6 thousand tons.
Deputy Minister for the Development of Food and Processing Industry Natalya Marievskaya recalled that the total storage capacity of elevator and warehouse type in the region is 7.2 million tons. At the same time, the implementation of a number of measures aimed at improving the logistics infrastructure of the grain market and increasing storage capacities for grain and oilseeds continues.
Industry enterprises are reconstructing and modernizing existing production facilities, investment projects are being implemented, large agricultural enterprises and peasant farms are building their own railway shipping sites, grain storage facilities and are ready to provide logistics services.
Wheat remains the main EXPORT crop in the region, the shipment geography of which is expanding every year. “The main directions of wheat shipment for export are Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, ports of the Krasnodar Territory, Rostov and Astrakhan regions. The main destinations for the shipment of new crop grain to the Russian market are Moscow and the Moscow Region, St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, the Krasnodar Territory, the Volgograd, Rostov, Kaliningrad, Samara, Tambov, Kirov Regions,” Natalya Marievskaya specified.
