Governor of the Leningrad Region Alexander Drozdenko held a meeting of the headquarters for preparations for seasonal field work.
The HEAD of the region noted that last year the region showed record harvests and the task for the new year is to maintain the pace of work and increase production volumes.
“President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin set us the task of ensuring the doctrine of food security. We need to increase the production of potatoes and vegetables by at least 3%. For our zone of risky farming, this is associated with a certain burden, but, for its part, the administration of the region is ready to fully fulfill all obligations to finance agricultural production,” said Alexander Drozdenko.
According to the Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Leningrad Region - Chairman of the Committee for Agro-Industrial and Fishery Complex Oleg Malashchenko, the Leningrad Region is ready for spring field work. There is funding, everything necessary has been purchased for the sowing season since autumn.
The budget of the Leningrad Region for 2023 provides for 1.7 billion rubles to support crop production programs, 113.3% by 2022.
Since the beginning of the year, 879 million rubles have been transferred to farmers for field work, which is 28% more than in 2022.
During the headquarters, agrotechnological services reported that the readiness of equipment was more than 90%, stocks of fuels and lubricants, spare parts, seeds and fertilizers were made.
In 2023, the total sown area in the Leningrad Region will be increased by 4.4 thousand hectares to 219 thousand hectares.
136% of the needs of grain crop seeds, 185% of potatoes, 113% of seeds of perennial grasses have been harvested for the sowing season.
