A modern complex for the processing of biowaste was put into operation at the Pervomaisky dairy farm in the Leningrad Region.
The high-tech manure handling complex was built within the framework of the project "Implementation of an environmentally friendly agricultural system as the basis for sustainable development of border rural areas" (EcoAgRAS) of the RUSSIA -South-East Finland 2014-2020 cross-border cooperation program.
Breeding farm "Pervomaisky" is one of the leading in the Leningrad region. The dairy herd of the Holstein breed has about 1 thousand heads, MILK yield per cow is 10,720 kg. The introduction of a manure processing complex will allow the farm to increase the number of cows and milk production.
Representatives of the Ministries of Economic Development and Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of the Republic of Finland, the Russia-South-East Finland cross-border cooperation program took part in the solemn ceremony of launching the international videoconferencing project.
The manure management infrastructure complex, built according to modern European standards, will separate animal waste into liquid and solid fractions, which, after biofermentation, will be used as organic fertilizers or animal bedding.
The cross-border cooperation program between Russia and the EU "Russia - South-East Finland 2014-2020" is being implemented with co-financing from Russia, the European Union and Finland. The total budget of the project is 3.15 million euros, co-financing of partners is 630 thousand euros.
The organizers of the project assume the continuation of cooperation with agricultural enterprises of the region.
