In Kabardino-Balkaria harvesting strawberries is gaining momentum

In Kabardino-Balkaria, agricultural producers have started harvesting garden strawberries. Usually it is called a strawberry. Of all the berry crops cultivated in Kabardino-Balkaria, strawberries account for the bulk.
Garden strawberries are grown mainly in the households of the population, here they learned how to cultivate them using modern technologies, both in open and closed ground.
Now they are harvesting early varieties that ripen in mid-May. Agricultural producers will start mass harvesting of garden strawberries in about 2 weeks.
Fragrant and sweet strawberries from Kabardino-Balkaria can be bought not only in local markets, they are in high demand far beyond the borders of the republic.
More than 5 thousand tons of various berries are harvested annually in the republic, of which more than 80% is the harvest of farms, individual entrepreneurs and households.
The top five regions where berries are actively grown are Urvansky, Chegemsky, Prokhladnensky, Baksansky and Maisky.
