Farmer Roman Artemyev from the Komsomolsky District is one of the winners of the competitive selection for grants for the development of family farms in 2025. He has been approved for a grant to implement a project to grow strawberries indoors.
During a working visit to the Komsomolsky District on Thursday, May 15, Sergei Bubnov, member of the Ivanovo Region government and DIRECTOR of the regional department of agriculture and food, visited Roman Artemyev's family farm, "Strawberry Point," to inspect the berry plantations and discuss plans for production development.
"Last week, we summarized the results of the competitive selection for grants for the development of family farms. This year, three family farms will receive support. The farmers will use the grants to implement projects to grow strawberries, vegetable seedlings, and flowers indoors, as well as to raise dairy cattle . Using the grant funds, farmer Roman Artemyev will build a greenhouse complex for seasonal strawberry cultivation on 1.9 hectares," the HEAD of the agricultural department reported.
The "Strawberry Point" farm has been producing strawberries in both open and closed ground for four years. Roman Artemyev's family moved to the Ivanovo region from Kabardino-Balkaria. To establish the family agricultural business, the farmer leased 28 hectares of abandoned arable land in the Komsomolsky district and brought it into cultivation. He has now purchased the land.
According to the farmer, this year the berry plantings in fruiting age amount to 9.5 hectares, planted with five strawberry varieties. "With the grant funds, we will build a greenhouse complex with a production unit for seasonal strawberry cultivation. This will ensure early ripening of the berries before the main season begins and extend the fruiting period. Furthermore, the closed ground protects the berries from precipitation, temperature fluctuations and frost, pests, and birds. Upon reaching design capacity, the greenhouses plan to produce an additional 32 tons of berries," he noted.
Last year, the farm harvested 38 tons of berries. Strawberries are sold in the Ivanovo, Yaroslavl, and Moscow regions.
As a reminder, nearly 24 million rubles have been allocated in 2025 for grant support for family farms in the Ivanovo region.
A family farm is a peasant (farming) enterprise consisting of two or more family members, registered in a rural area of the region or in a rural agglomeration. Grant funds constitute no more than 60% of the business plan costs, with the remaining 40% coming from the grant recipient's own or borrowed funds.
Grant funds may be used to acquire land, develop design documentation, acquire, construct, renovate production facilities, and equip them with equipment, including independent power, gas, and water supply systems. Part of the grant funds may be used to repay a preferential investment loan, pay interest, and repay a loan obtained from an agricultural consumer credit cooperative.
Grants are provided as part of the regional project "Development of Industries and Technological Modernization of the Agro-Industrial Complex" of the state program "Development of Agriculture and Regulation of Agricultural Produce, Raw Materials, and Food Markets in the Ivanovo Region."
