Agrarians of the Ivanovo region continue harvesting, to date they have harvested about 40% of the area under grain and leguminous crops. Experts note that this year's harvest is better than in 2021.
Gavrilovo-Posadsky district is among the leaders of the harvesting campaign. On Friday, August 19, the DIRECTOR of the regional department of agriculture and food, Denis Cherkesov, inspected how the municipality's farms are working.
Denis Cherkesov said that to date, harvesting work is being carried out on farms in 19 districts of the region, farmers have harvested more than 60,000 tons of grain. The average yield is 23.7 q/ha. According to Denis Cherkesov, this year the yield is higher than in 2021. “So far, the initial forecasts for 130 thousand tons are coming true, but I hope that the figure will eventually be a little higher,” said Denis Cherkesov.
A higher grain yield compared to 2021 is also noted by specialists of the agricultural enterprise Plemzavod im. Dzerzhinsky" from the village of Osanovets, Gavrilovo-Posadsky district. Winter wheat has already been harvested here, more than four thousand tons have been harvested with a yield of 40 centners per hectare. According to Shamil Zainudinov, General Director of the enterprise, spring barley is being harvested on the farm. The crop yield is slightly more than 30 centners per hectare, higher than last year. To date, half of the barley fields have been harvested, and it will take about 10 more days to complete the entire grain harvest. The next stage after the harvest of grain in the "Plemzavod im. Dzerzhinsky" will be the harvesting of spring rapeseed on an area of about 400 hectares and almost 1,500 hectares of corn. This year's hot weather conditions allow the farm to save on grain drying, Shamil Zainudinov specified.
We add that the total sown area of agricultural crops in the economy is 8.5 thousand hectares, including crops of grain crops - winter wheat and barley - almost 3 thousand hectares. Forage is also being harvested: 950 hectares of grass have been cut for hay and 2690 tons harvested, 1461 hectares for green mass (ready silage - 23436 tons). Preparations are underway for winter sowing.
Forage harvesting continues in other farms of the region. In agricultural enterprises and peasant (farmer) farms, fodder crops were mowed on an area of 52.8 thousand hectares, 75.9 thousand tons of roughage were harvested, including 36.3 thousand tons of hay and 32.7 thousand tons of haylage. 195.2 thousand tons of succulent fodder were harvested. As Denis Cherkesov noted, the harvested volumes are at the level of the last year. At the moment, based on the conditional HEAD of livestock, on average in the region, there are about 14 centners of feed units stocked with rough and succulent fodder.
It is planned that grain harvesting will be completed in the first ten days of September. As long as the weather conditions for the harvest are optimal. The largest amount of grain was threshed by the farms of the Gavrilovo-Posad district (27.3 thousand tons), which traditionally collects more than a third of the harvest of the Ivanovo region. Also among the leaders are agricultural enterprises of Rodnikovsky (6.4 thousand tons), Shuisky (5.4 thousand tons) and Privolzhsky (4.9 thousand tons) districts.
The main harvest of vegetables will begin approximately in a week. However, in the farms of Kineshma, Privolzhsky, Teikovsky and Shuisky districts, these works have already begun. In general, 53.5 hectares of vegetable crops were harvested, or 11.2% of the plan, 558 tons of vegetables were harvested. The yield of vegetables is 104.4 q/ha.
In addition, the sowing of winter crops for the 2023 harvest has begun in the region. Winter sowing was carried out on an area of 1705 ha (505 ha of winter wheat and 1200 ha of winter rapeseed). As Denis Cherkesov added, this year agricultural producers plan to carry out winter sowing on an area of 26,000 hectares.
