Agricultural producers of the Trans-Baikal Territory received 4.7 thousand tons of grain as a result of harvesting buckwheat, which is almost twice as much as a year earlier. This was announced by the HEAD of the regional agrarian department Denis Bochkarev.

“The Trans-Baikal farms harvested buckwheat from an area of ​​3.6 thousand hectares, threshing 4.7 thousand tons. In 2020, this crop was mown from a sown area of ​​810 hectares, the gross harvest amounted to 2.4 thousand tons,” the minister said.

The highest yield of buckwheat was received by the farmers of the Priargunsky district - 1.5 thousand tons. Agricultural enterprises of the Krasnokamensk region harvested 1.2 thousand tons. Gross harvest in agricultural organizations of the Aleksandrovo-Zavodsky district slightly exceeded 500 tons.

The harvesting campaign in Transbaikalia is nearing completion. Work is still underway in the Nerchinsk, Sretensky and Chernyshevsky districts. Farmers are expected to finish harvesting grain and oilseeds by the end of this week.
