Breeders predict for him a record yield and the highest grain quality.
The name of the variety was in honor of the river of the same name in the Sverdlovsk region. Obtained from crossing varieties "Ekaterina" and "Krasnoufimskaya 100". According to scientists, "Nitsa" refers to medium-early varieties - it takes about 80 days from germination to ripening. Resistant to common diseases: dusty and hard smut, brown rust, swedish fly. The average grain weight is 40-45 grams, which exceeds the standard for FLOUR yield by 10%. In addition, the new variety is distinguished by an increased content of protein 13-15% and gluten 27-30%, which indicates the high baking qualities of wheat.
The predicted yield of the variety is more than 8 tons per hectare. Nitsa is characterized by an increase in grain yield compared to the standard by 23%, net energy income by 20%, and a decrease in grain production costs by up to 16%. The variety is suitable for use for food and fodder purposes.
“Soft wheat, which is used for the production of bread, bakery products and malt, is traditionally in greater demand than durum wheat, which is used to make pasta, gingerbread and other products. To create a competitive variety, it is important to take into account many factors - not only grain yield and yield, but also germination, lodging, disease resistance, and much more. The scourge of wheat is loose smut, since such grain will not even go to feed livestock. In Siberia, brown rust is very common, which takes up to 50% of the crop. Variety "Nitsa" is absolutely not affected by them. We tested it for 3 years and got very good results. We are sure that the variety will replenish the line of the best wheat varieties and will be in great demand,” said Vladimir Alexandrovich Vorobyov, the author of the Nitsa variety,
Now "Nitsa" has been transferred to the State Commission of the Russian Federation for testing and protection of breeding achievements. The variety is checked for the declared characteristics simultaneously in more than 30 regions of the country - from Arkhangelsk to Irkutsk. In 3 years, he will replenish the federal collection of varieties of the state register.
It should be noted that today in RUSSIA the recognized “champion” among wheat in terms of yield with an indicator of 8 tons per hectare is the “Extra” variety. It was also brought out by scientists from the Ural Federal Research Center of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences in 2017 (in 2020 it was included in the state register). And according to the monitoring data of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Rosselkhoztsentr", the Ural variety "Iren" in the ranking of varieties for soft spring wheat took 1st place in terms of sowing in the Russian Federation in 2021.

Help . The Ural Federal Agrarian Research Center of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (UrFARC UB RAS) unites in its structure 6 research organizations of the Sverdlovsk, Chelyabinsk and Kurgan regions. Over the years, the scientists of the center have created and included in the State Register of Breeding Achievements of the Russian Federation more than 300 varieties of grain, forage, fruit, berry, ornamental crops and potatoes, which are grown in different regions of Russia on a total area of more than 2 million hectares. In the field of veterinary medicine and animal husbandry, serious work is being done on the epizootic welfare of farm animals and genomic selection and genotyping of cattle.
