FGBI ARRIAH scientists held a regular meeting on import substitution

On June 09, 2022, a working meeting was held on the basis of the Bryansk branch of the FSBI "CNMVL" with the participation of representatives of the largest livestock and poultry enterprises in the region. The event was chaired by Antonina Gapeenko, Deputy HEAD of the ROSSELKHOZNADZOR Office for the Bryansk, Smolensk and Kaluga regions. Leading scientists of the FGBI “Federal Center for Animal Health” (FSBI “ARRIAH”) subordinate to the Rosselkhoznadzor attended the meeting online and spoke with topical issues on import substitution in terms of veterinary drugs and test systems for the production of FGBI “ARRIAH”.

The main issues of the meeting were the specific prevention of diseases of farm animals and the import substitution of veterinary drugs in the context of economic sanctions.

During the event, the problems of ensuring the veterinary well-being of enterprises, protecting industrial livestock from especially dangerous diseases, preventing epizootics of infectious animal diseases, as well as the effectiveness of vaccination were discussed.

Dmitry Pavlov, Leading Specialist in Bovine Diseases of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “ARRIAH”, made a presentation on topical diseases of cattle and talked about modern means of specific prevention.

Mikhail Volkov, Head of the Laboratory of Epizootology and Monitoring of the FGBI “ARRIAH”, in his speech highlighted the topic of the effectiveness of vaccination against viral diseases of birds in industrial poultry farming.

Also, those present were acquainted with the line of drugs manufactured by FGBI "ARRIAH" and the latest developments of the institution. On specific examples, the principles of working with business entities were demonstrated.

Following the meeting, the participants proposed options for mutually beneficial cooperation in terms of scientific support and adjustment of vaccination schemes in order to ensure the HEALTH of farm animals and birds.
