In agricultural enterprises and peasant farms of the Tambov region engaged in animal husbandry, work has begun on the preparation of fodder. To date, more than 2 thousand hectares of fields sown with fodder crops have been mowed. About 5 thousand tons of hay and haylage have been harvested.
In total, almost 18 thousand hectares of fields were sown with fodder crops. it is planned to collect at least 145 thousand tons of coarse and 240 thousand tons of succulent feed from this area. The need of livestock farming enterprises for feed will be provided in full.
When harvesting hay and haylage, Tambov farmers observe the optimal mowing time, use modern laying technologies, thereby maintaining the quality and nutritional value of the forage. This helps to increase the productivity of animals.
One of the main directions for ensuring food security is the development of animal husbandry. After all, providing the population of the Tambov region and the regions of the country as a whole with quality food is one of the main tasks of the leadership of the region.
