Agricultural organizations and farms from four municipalities of Transbaikalia purchased 22 sires from the Altai Territory. This was announced by the deputy HEAD of the regional Ministry of Agriculture Alexander Tyukavkin.
“In order to improve the productive qualities of cattle , nine farms from the Aginsky, Aleksandrovo-Zavodsky, Shilkinsky districts and the Priargunsky district purchased 22 bulls from the farm breeding farm in the Altai Territory. Pedigree animals were delivered to Transbaikalia by road, the road was well tolerated and now they feel satisfactory. Currently, the owners have taken them from the Trans-Baikal livestock breeding center, whose specialists organized the purchase of bulls and delivery to our region,” said the Deputy Minister.
it should be noted that most farms decided to buy animals of MEAT breeds: Aberdeen Angus, Kazakh white-headed and Hereford. Also, some agricultural producers intend to improve the herd with replacement bulls of meat and dairy Simmental breed.
“The average weight of one-year-old bulls is about 500 kg. They meet all the standards of the selected breeds and will allow the Trans-Baikal farms to “renew” the blood of their cows, which will also affect the improvement of the quality of the products received,” Alexander Tyukavkin explained.
We add that all farms will be able to receive subsidies from the Ministry of Agriculture of Transbaikalia to reimburse part of the costs associated with the purchase of breeding animals from outside the region.
