Elite animals from CANADA arrived at the South Ural enterprise of the pig breeding industry in the Chelyabinsk region - 1,200 breeding pigs of the Yorkshire, Landrace and Duroc breeds. On August 11, a breeding Boeing 747 delivered 2, 3 and 4-month-old animals to the Chelyabinsk Kurchatov airport, which went straight to the Uvelsky district - to the farms of Ariant Agrofirma.

“All the animals survived the many hours of flight normally, they are in good condition,” commented Sergey Tuzov, HEAD of the veterinary department of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Chelyabinsk region. - This is the third replenishment of the pig population with Canadian animals at the agricultural company. Thus, the specialists of the enterprise renew the genetic core of the herd in order to maintain the high productive qualities of pigs and improve the consumer properties of MEAT.”

The supplier of breeding pigs GENESUS is a strategic partner of Agrofirma Ariant, a world leader in the field of pig breeding. Modern pig breeding is based on the Duroc, Yorkshire and Landrace breeds. These breeds are distinguished by high productivity and good HEALTH, which allow pig enterprises to increase production volume and improve product quality. The import of animals into the territory of the Chelyabinsk region from abroad was carried out in strict accordance with the unified veterinary and sanitary requirements for goods subject to veterinary control, the First Regional news agency reports.

The specialists of the supplier of breeding pigs tried to ensure that the flight did not cause stress for the animals: they were placed in special wooden boxes equipped with drinking bowls. Upon the arrival of the plane in Chelyabinsk, boxes with animals - 300 boars and 900 pigs - were loaded onto car semi-trailers and sent to the Ariant Agrofirma site for quarantine measures. Within 30 days, the animals will be observed, tested, and controlled. After the quarantine, the boars and gilts will be transferred to the main breeding stock - each in their own group - where they will join the general work on the reproduction of the herd.

"Agrofirma Ariant" is eleven automated pig farms equipped with European equipment, which contain more than 800,000 heads of pigs. And also this is the cultivation of our own grain, the production of feed for the pig farm, a large meat processing workshop and the sale of finished meat products through a network of company stores. All this allows the company to control every stage of production - from the field to the counter - and form an independent pricing policy.

“The first thoroughbred pigs were brought to the breeding reproducers of Agrofirma Ariant back in 2013. They were also purchased from the world-renowned segment leader, Genesus. Five years later, to improve genetic resources, the livestock was replenished with a new batch. Today, 900 pigs and 300 boars have arrived at the pig farms of the agricultural company. Foreign breeds, as you know, are more hardy and larger than ours, they have an unusually high growth rate, they have a thinner skeleton structure and pronounced meat forms, ”said Olga Afinogentova, Deputy General DIRECTOR for Pig Breeding.
