Of all the stone fruit crops grown on an industrial scale in the Stavropol Territory, plums are the most produced in the region - they are grown on an area of 280 hectares. This fruit is most massively grown by agricultural enterprises in the Budennovsky, Petrovsky, Mineralovodsky, Novoselitsky, Trunovsky and Georgievsky districts.
The farm of Interinvest LLC, located in the Georgievsky district, has already harvested the first 8 tons of plums: in total, they expect to get about 25-30 tons of fruits here.
“On the territory of the region, in the production of stone fruit crops, a diverse number of varieties of different ripeness groups are used, which makes it possible to have fresh fruits not only in summer, but also in autumn. At the same time, the varietal palette of plums in the region is the most diverse: “Kuban early”, “Stanley”, “Anna Sipst”, “Anna Shpet” and “Sentyabrskaya”. It is also noteworthy that plum trees are unpretentious in their care, and always give juicy and sweet fruits: from early to late, ”explained Elena Tambovtseva, HEAD of the crop production department of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Stavropol Territory.
At the end of this week, plums will be harvested at the A.K. Gardens of Stavropol, Trunovsky district. The company expects to harvest about 70-80 tons of products. The fruits are not stored for so long, usually no more than a month, so the plums are consumed fresh or processed. They make excellent jams, dried fruits, marshmallows and preserves.
“In 2021, 23 agricultural producers received subsidies from the budget to reimburse part of the costs of establishing and caring for perennial plantings, including nurseries, including the installation of trellises and anti-hail nets, as well as for uprooting decommissioned perennial plantings, of which 20 – SHP and 3 K(F)Kh,” said Sergey Izmalkov, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Stavropol Territory.
The amount of subsidies transferred to the gardeners of the region amounted to 482 million rubles, of which the federal budget - 453 million rubles, the budget of the Stavropol Territory - 29 million rubles.
Governor Vladimir Vladimirov has set the task of supporting intensive and super-intensive gardens. This will create a good economy in the region for the long term - 20-25 years. As for the numbers, more than 600-800 hectares of gardens are planted in the region every year, good subsidies are allocated for the establishment and maintenance of perennial plantings. In my opinion, this is an excellent support for gardeners and we plan to systematically maintain this subsidy in the long term, - stressed the head of the agricultural department of the Stavropol Territory Vladimir Sitnikov.
Almost all large agricultural organizations engaged in growing fruits have their own fruit storage facilities. The total fruit storage capacity in the region is 40,000 tons.
They are launched and operate in such enterprises as Interinvest LLC of the Georgievsky District with a storage capacity of 5730 tons, A.K. Gardens of Stavropol” Trunovsky district - 6500 tons, LLC “Rassvet” Georgievsky district with a fruit storage capacity of 5680 tons and in other horticultural organizations of the region. At the same time, during the season when apples, plums and pears are harvested in the region, the storage facilities operate smoothly.
“In the region, the harvesting of open ground strawberries has already been completed: enterprises have collected 285 tons. The harvest of cherries was completed at Moya Dream LLC, which harvested 17 tons with an average yield of 20.2 centners per hectare. At the moment, cherry harvesting is being completed and a mass harvest of apples is starting, ”shared the head of the crop production department of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Stavropol Territory Elena Tambovtseva.
