Harvesting of garden strawberries began in the Lipetsk region

This year, due to weather conditions, the berry ripens a little later.
Garden strawberries are harvested on an industrial scale in Lebedyansky and Usmansky districts. To date, 165 tons have been received.
The harvested area under garden strawberries in the region is about 130 hectares. Berry picking is carried out at Berry Fields LLC, Agrofirma named after 15 years of October CJSC and K (F) X A.V. Vasiliev.
“Until 2017, the volume of berry production in the Lipetsk region was insignificant, 200-250 tons per year,” said Oleg Dolgikh, HEAD of the agriculture department. “According to the results of 2021, about 1.4 thousand tons of berries were harvested in the region, including 1.2 thousand tons of garden strawberries.”
