Since the beginning of the year, the turnover of agricultural products between Russia and Vietnam has increased by 8%

The Russian Ministry of Agriculture hosted a meeting between Deputy Minister of Agriculture Sergei Levin and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the Russian Federation Dang Minh Khoi. The parties discussed trade in agricultural products, cooperation in the field of veterinary and phytosanitary supervision, as well as the implementation of joint investment projects.

Vietnam is Russia's strategic partner in the agricultural sector. In recent years, the turnover of agricultural products and food is about 15% of the total volume of trade between the countries. At the same time, the pace of development of cooperation continues to grow. According to the results of seven months of this year, mutual deliveries increased by 8% to $558 million.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the opening of the Vietnamese market for new types of domestic livestock products and the mutual expansion of the list of exporting companies. Special attention was paid to the possibility of organizing direct deliveries of Russian wheat to processing enterprises in Vietnam. They also discussed the implementation of projects by the Vietnamese concern TH True MILK Group in the Moscow and Kaluga regions and Primorsky Krai.
