Regional support for the modernization of processing industry enterprises has been quadrupled.
In order to ensure food security and supply the population with food, the processing industry enterprises of the Rostov region operate in an uninterrupted mode, in a number of industries there is an increase in production volumes. This became known during a meeting of the headquarters for monitoring and responding to changes in the situation on food markets located in the Rostov region.
So, cereal enterprises of the Rostov region work with an increase in production volume, taking into account incoming applications.
“The Rostov region is in fourth place in terms of cereal production in RUSSIA, - said Viktor Goncharov, First Deputy Governor of the Rostov Region. “Last year, more than 83 thousand tons of cereals were produced on the Don, which exceeded the figures for 2020 by 13%. Currently, the region's cereal enterprises are working with an increase in production volume. Over the two months of this year, more than 19 thousand tons were produced, which is more than 190% of the level of 2021. In February, 10.5 thousand tons were produced, which is twice as much as in February last year.”
According to the Don Ministry of Agriculture and Food, there are eight medium-sized enterprises and more than 50 micro-enterprises in the cereal industry of the Rostov region. At the same time, local enterprises produce a wide range of cereals, for which raw materials produced on the Don are used: rice, millet, wheat, barley, corn, semolina, pearl barley, as well as cereals of leguminous crops.
The department notes that the production capacity of all Don enterprises for the production of cereals exceeds 230 thousand tons per year, which allows, if necessary, to increase volumes.
According to the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, in general, the production of cereals is also growing in the country. In general, over 1.6 million tons of cereals were produced in Russia in 2021, which exceeds 105% compared to the previous year. According to the results of the first two months, 271,000 tons of cereals were produced in the country, which is 19.1% more than in the same period in 2021. Agrarian experts believe that the enterprises of the industry are able to provide consumers with products even in conditions of rush demand, so the situation with cereals does not cause concern, and the market will be provided with these products.
Producers of cereals in the Rostov region also confirm this. So, due to increased demand, production was increased at the PKF Mayak enterprise in the Zernograd region, where it produces about 30 types of cereals. The production capacities of the plant allow to produce up to eight thousand tons of cereals per year, but were previously loaded only by 30%. Now consumer demand and a change in the policy of retail chains, which open up more opportunities for domestic producers, allow the company to increase volumes.
“We are ready to supply as much as needed, and for this we plan to increase the staff of our employees and partners,” said Lyubov Zheleznaya, DIRECTOR of the Don processing enterprise. “But expanding deliveries to domestic markets, we do not forget about exports.”
They are not going to stop exports, while expanding production capabilities, and at another Don enterprise - Agro Victoria LLC, which is a subsidiary of Rostov Krupyanaya Kompaniya LLC.
“Our EXPORT has not stopped, since our main buyer is the Arab countries, - the general director of the agricultural enterprise Viktoria Petrovskaya. “This is a very large global market, much wider than Europe, so nothing has changed for us, there are just some logistical difficulties, nevertheless we ship the goods, everything is fine with us.”
The Don government drew attention to the increase in regional state support in the form of subsidizing processing enterprises for the modernization of production
“This year, the funding limit in this area has been increased by more than four times compared to last year and amounted to almost 144 million rubles,” Viktor Goncharov emphasized. “These subsidies are aimed at reimbursing part of the cost of purchasing equipment and special vehicles, as well as carrying out activities to promote products and introduce quality standards.”
Also, by Decree of the Government of the Rostov Region dated March 28, 2022 No. 218, changes were made to increase the amount of reimbursable costs from 35 to 40 percent. For producers of cereals, the maximum amount of the subsidy provided has been increased from two million rubles to five million rubles.
