This week, most Russian horticultural farms have already announced the complete end of the blackcurrant sales season, while the rest of the producers offer the remaining batches of this berry for sale, EastFruit project analysts report.
According to the project's daily monitoring data, the blackcurrant sales season in RUSSIA this year ended 2 weeks later than a year ago. At the same time, producers manage to sell the remaining volumes of this berry on average 22% more expensive than in the previous season. So, today the remaining batches of black currants go on sale at 150-250 rubles / kg ($ 2.04-3.40 / kg), depending on the quality and region of production.
According to gardeners, this season the supply of black currants on the market was limited due to reduced harvest due to hot weather and drought in the first half of summer. As a result, the prices for these berries were kept at a higher level compared to the previous season.
