The Department of ROSSELKHOZNADZOR for the Republic of Mordovia and the Penza Region informs that the Rosselkhoznadzor, together with the National Union of Pig Breeders, has developed a biosafety checklist - approximate criteria for assessing the biological protection management system of pig farms.
This document contains more than 300 questions covering the main stages of the production process for breeding, keeping and raising pigs. it included such criteria as evaluation of anti-epizootic measures, collection, storage and disposal of biological waste, stocking / movement of animals, requirements for disinfection barriers and disinfection mats, storage, application and accounting of disinfectants, requirements for feed and feed bins, as well as the movement of personnel and transport.
The Office of the Rosselkhoznadzor for the Republic of Mordovia and the Penza Region sent checklists to pig breeding enterprises of the republic for a substantive assessment of the weight of each of these factors, for a comprehensive audit of the effectiveness of bioprotection of pig farms in order to prevent the spread of African swine fever and other swine diseases. On the territory of the Republic of Mordovia there are 11 farms engaged in keeping and breeding pigs.
In addition, the developed list of criteria can also be useful when conducting an independent internal audit by the enterprise.
To date, the analysis of the spread of ASF and the registration of other diseases in RUSSIA indicate an insufficient level of biological safety of pig farms. Outbreaks are recorded both in farms with a low level of biosecurity, and in farms of the highest - IV compartment.
