The volume of MILK production in agricultural organizations and peasant farms of the Don increased in 2021, according to preliminary data, by almost 5% and amounted to almost 260 thousand tons. This was discussed at a meeting in the Don government on the implementation of targets in the agro-industrial complex chaired by First Deputy Governor Viktor Goncharov.
According to the Don Ministry of Agriculture and Food, 488 agricultural producers are currently engaged in dairy farming in the Rostov region, of which 59 agricultural enterprises and 429 farms. The total volume of milk production, according to operational data, is about 1.1 million tons.
At the meeting, it was emphasized that the productivity of cows in agricultural enterprises for the first time exceeded 7000 kg and reached 7090 kg, in farms - 6320 kg. Thus, the annual increase was 3%.
The achievement of such indicators became possible, among other things, through the implementation of state support in the areas of dairy farming in 2021, for which about 400 million rubles were allocated,” Viktor Goncharov noted. “With the help of funding from the federal and regional budgets, Don livestock breeders were able to modernize 20 dairy farms last year.”
So, in the Veselovsky district, a complete reconstruction of the farm of CJSC "Krasny Oktyabr" was carried out, the SPK (collective farm) "KOLOS" of the Matveevo-Kurgan district built and equipped a new cowshed. Two farms from the Millerovsky and Tatsinsky districts have built and completed new buildings, the commissioning of which is expected in February 2022.
In general, in 2021, agricultural producers of the region, with the participation of state support funds, purchased 967 heads of breeding young dairy cattle, including 727 heads of imported selection and 240 heads of domestic selection, equipment for dairy farms was purchased in the amount of 120 million rubles.
“At a recent report by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the region, Governor Vasily Golubev emphasized that dairy cattle breeding remains among the priority areas for the development of the agricultural sector in the region, and we also face the task of increasing the volume of processing of agricultural raw materials and increasing the volume of exports of processed products,” recalled Viktor Goncharov. “According to the results of the last year, there are several positive trends in the processing and EXPORT of dairy products.”
So, according to the data for 11 months, the production of cheese and cottage cheese increased by 13-14% at the Don enterprises. The export of these dairy products from the Rostov region also increased by 35.7% in monetary terms. It amounted to 4.2 thousand tons in the amount of 19 million US dollars.
In addition, the export of milk and cream increased by almost 30% - up to 26.7 thousand tons for the amount of 14.3 million US dollars. The National Union of Milk Producers was announced by the Minister of Agriculture Dmitry Patrushev.
So, according to the HEAD of the federal agrarian department, it generally demonstrates stable performance. According to preliminary estimates, in 2021 the volume of raw milk production amounted to 32.3 million tons, which is 100 thousand tons more than in 2020. This, among other things, is facilitated by the modernization of existing and the creation of new high-tech enterprises. Over the past year, more than 170 livestock farms have been renovated and built. The average productivity indicator for the year increased by 150 kg and exceeded 6.8 tons per cow.

In RUSSIA, in 2021, there was an increase in the production of: cheeses, cottage cheese, processed and powdered milk, as well as ice cream. Sustainable production indicators, among other things, allow us to systematically develop the export of milk and dairy products. Thus, in 2021 it exceeded $390 million, which is almost a third higher than in 2020.
