Field work is going on as usual. Mikhail Glazkov, deputy HEAD of the region, reported on the course of harvesting during the operational meeting under the Governor.
At the moment, most of the crops have been harvested. Farmers have already harvested 84.7 thousand hectares of grain crops and completed 92% of the harvesting plan. Fiber flax was harvested on an area of 1.9 thousand hectares (89% of the plan), rapeseed was harvested on an area of 2.1 thousand hectares (88% of the plan).
According to Mikhail Glazkov, this year the region's farms have received a good harvest of grain and rapeseed. The yield of these crops is twice as high as last year.
“Most of the grain was harvested in the Vologda, Gryazovets and Sheksninsky districts of the region: 65 thousand tons, 25.9 thousand tons and 18.7 thousand tons, respectively,” said Mikhail Glazkov, Deputy Governor of the region. - Among the farms, the largest yields were obtained in the PZK "Named after the 50th anniversary of the USSR", PZK "Aurora" and SHPK "Plemzavod Maisky".
Vegetable harvesting is in full swing. Agricultural enterprises dug up 19.1 thousand tons of potatoes, harvested 1.6 thousand tons of vegetables. Now they are harvesting carrots and beets, then they will start harvesting cabbage. These works will end in October.
Forage harvesting also continues in the region. The work of the entire livestock industry depends on their volume and quality. Based on one conditional head of cattle, 21.4 centners of feed units were harvested, which is 93% of the plan. Last year, as of September 16, this figure was 17.8 centners.
“To provide animals with feed, the farms harvest the third cuttings of perennial grasses, and in advanced farms even the fourth. The region is also starting harvesting corn for silage. Corn has been sown in the Gryazovetsky, Vologda, Sheksninsky, Velikoustyugsky and Totemsky districts. The sowing area this year has been increased by more than a thousand hectares and is 4.4 thousand hectares,” Mikhail Glazkov noted.
Simultaneously with harvesting and fodder preparation, preparations are underway for the sowing season of the coming year. By this time, 4.8 thousand hectares of winter crops and about 200 hectares of winter rapeseed have been sown. 33 thousand hectares were plowed over, 23.4 thousand tons of grain seeds were covered.
The Governor of the Vologda Oblast Oleg Kuvshinnikov thanked the workers of the agricultural sector and asked the farmers to make every effort to harvest without losses and ensure the food security of the region.
