Producers of the Novosibirsk region fully meet the needs of the region in most basic types of food. So, at the end of 2021, the self-sufficiency of the region in grain was 190%, MILK - 102%, pork MEAT - 127%, eggs - 126%, greenhouse vegetables - 134%.
The missing volumes for some types of food products, the production of which within the region does not yet fully meet the needs of the domestic market, are being replaced by imports from other regions of RUSSIA, as well as foreign countries.
The Novosibirsk region is a surplus region in the production of grain and oilseeds, the average annual grain surplus in recent years has been more than 700 thousand tons annually. In 2021, the region received a record grain harvest: 3 million 383 thousand tons, which almost doubled the region's domestic needs, including food grain for the flour-grinding and baking industries, seed stock, grain fodder for livestock, etc.
The volumes of livestock production also make it possible to satisfy the demand of the population for basic foodstuffs in excess.
Gross milk production in farms of all categories for 2021 amounted to 846 thousand tons, of which 707 thousand tons of milk were produced in agricultural organizations and farms. The level of self-sufficiency of the region in milk was 102%.
Novosibirsk poultry farms produced more than 1.1 billion pieces of food eggs, almost 400 pieces for each inhabitant of the region (the consumption rate recommended by the Ministry of HEALTH of the Russian Federation is 270 pieces per person per year).
The volume of meat production of all types in the Novosibirsk region in 2021 amounted to 248 thousand tons. The structure of production is as follows: beef and veal - 24%, pork - 35%, poultry meat - 37%, lamb and goat meat - 2%, others - 2%. Self-sufficiency of the region with meat of all kinds is estimated at 90%. The region currently has a surplus in terms of pork - the security is 127%.
Self-sufficiency in beef is the lowest among various types of meat - 60%. In all categories of farms, including personal subsidiary plots of citizens engaged in agricultural production, in 2021, 60.6 thousand tons of cattle meat in live weight were produced, which is approximately 11.5 kg of beef per inhabitant of the region per year (the recommended medical consumption rate is 20 kg per person). At the same time, according to the data of food balances, in 2021, beef exported from the Novosibirsk region was 2.6 thousand tons more than imported, which means that this type of meat produced in the region is quite enough to meet the existing consumer demand in the domestic market.
The Novosibirsk region, due to the high level of development of the agro-industrial complex, has the opportunity not only to provide for the domestic market, but also to supply food to other regions of Russia and for EXPORT. So, wheat, chocolate, flax seeds, oats, soybeans, peas, barley, FLOUR, rapeseed seeds, beer, bird feathers and down, ice cream and some other types of products were shipped abroad from the NSO in 2021.
