Cherepovets hosted the XVI regional raw MILK quality review competition "Best Milk - 2021". Traditionally, producers of raw milk from the Vologda Oblast of various forms of ownership took part in the competition - winners and prize-winners of regional reviews of the quality of raw milk.
In total, 23 samples of milk from 17 districts of the region were submitted to the competition. On the basis of the Cherepovets Dairy Plant, all samples have passed laboratory tests. Physicochemical and microbiological parameters were checked. In raw milk samples, the mass fraction of fat and protein, density, acidity, and purity were determined. The milk was also tested for the presence of antibiotics. In parallel, an organoleptic evaluation of the samples was carried out. The tasting commission evaluated the smell and taste of milk.
Laboratory studies and organoleptic evaluation of raw milk samples were carried out in a closed way. Milk samples were coded, which company they belong to, it became known only after the end of the tests and discussion of the results. The overall quality score was determined by a complex indicator, which is calculated by summing the final scores for each quality characteristic.
According to the chairman of the regional commission Olga Dolmatova, the participants of the competition were divided into categories depending on the form of ownership and the number of milk yields per cow. The products of peasant farms and the products of agricultural organizations were evaluated separately.
The Deputy Governor of the region Mikhail Glazkov congratulated the best producers of raw milk and presented them with awards.
“This is a traditional competition for the region, we are holding it for the 16th time. Participation is taken by our dairy farming enterprises, which are the main suppliers of milk to factories in the Vologda Oblast and neighboring regions. Vologda milk is used to produce delicious products of the highest quality,” said Mikhail Glazkov. – We hold this important competition every year so that the quality of our products is further honed and improved, so that we do not lose vigilance and keep the brand. We will strive to continue to maintain the set high quality level of raw milk for the production of a real Vologda product.”
According to the results of the competition, in the nomination "The Best Milk of the Vologda Region" among farms with a productivity per cow for 2020 up to 7200 kg, the Andoga farm from Kaduysky district became. In second place is Agrocomplex Izboishchi LLC of the Chagodoshchensky district. The third place was taken by LLC "Niva" from the Totemsky district.
Among the farms of the region with a productivity per cow for 2020 of 7201-8500 kg, the milk of the SEC "Romashevsky" of the Tarnogsky district was recognized as the best. Second place went to Severodvinets LLC from the Velikoustyug region.
Among the farms of the region with a productivity per cow in 2020 of over 8501 kg, milk of the Order of the Red Banner of Labor was recognized as the best milk of the Breeding Farm collective farm named after the 50th anniversary of the USSR from the Gryazovets district The second place was taken by Pokrovskoye Breeding Plant LLC, Gryazovetsky District. In third place - SPK Prigorodny "Plus" from the Ustyuzhensky district.
In the nomination "The most delicious milk" the Breeding plant-collective farm "Avrora" of the Gryazovetsky district won. The company received the highest score on the organoleptic evaluation of milk.
In the nomination "Best Farmer's Milk", the winner was the individual entrepreneur, the HEAD of the Peasant Farm Eduard Demichev from the Cherepovets region.
Recall that the regional competition for the quality of raw milk "The Best Milk" is held in order to implement measures aimed at improving the quality of raw milk produced in the region and raising public awareness about the quality of dairy products entering the consumer market of the region. The Vologda Oblast is the only region in RUSSIA where such competitions are held.
