One of the strategic sectors of the economy, designed to ensure a sustainable supply of the population with the necessary quantity and quality of food, is the food and processing industry.
The products manufactured by the enterprises of the agro-industrial complex of our region not only fully cover the internal regional demand, but also allow us to supply products both to the domestic market and for EXPORT. A wide range of products of the Lipetsk agro-industrial complex finds its customers in more than 80 countries of the world.
In recent years, the region has mastered the production of new types of products. In particular, these are rapeseed, soybean, linseed, camelina, lupine vegetable oils, snacks, juices with prebiotics, french fries, premixes, quick-frozen fruits and vegetables, yeast.
At the end of 2022, the Lipetsk Region in many respects improved its position in the ranking of regions for the production of basic food products and currently ranks first in the country in the production of processed and canned potatoes, unrefined rapeseed oil, fruit, vegetable and MEAT products for baby food, yeast, tobacco, rations and rations. The region is also in the TOP-3 in the Russian Federation for the production of SUGAR, meat-containing canned food, dairy products for baby food and water, drinks for baby food, beet pulp and frozen fruits and berries.
And, of course, it is impossible not to mention the vegetables of closed ground. Since 2019, the region has consistently held the 1st place in the country for the production of vegetables in greenhouses with a year-round growing cycle, constantly updating its own records. And this despite the fact that seven years ago, in terms of greenhouse production, it was not even among the top ten. The gross harvest of indoor vegetables increased from 8.3 thousand tons in 2009 to 168 thousand tons in 2022. At the moment, more than 33 thousand vegetables and lettuce have already been harvested in the region.
