Export of sugar in the Tambov region increased by a quarter

The EXPORT of Tambov SUGAR for 8 months of this year increased by a quarter compared to the same period in 2021. All this time, sugar produced from the 2021 harvest was exported.
In early September of this year, 5 Tambov sugar factories started processing the new crop. Now the enterprises are actively preparing production and storage facilities.
All sugar factories in the region produce 3.4 thousand tons of sugar per day.
it is expected that the gross harvest of sugar beet this year may be at the level of 4.2 million tons, which will increase sugar production by 10%.
As noted in the regional department of agriculture, the products of the sugar industry of the Tambov region are in demand abroad. Sugar is sent to Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan.
It should be noted that according to the results of the first half of 2022, more than 69 thousand tons of sugar were produced. This is more than 2 times higher than last year's figures. The region is one of the three leaders in sugar production both in RUSSIA and in the Central Federal District.
Sugar is exported under the regional project "Export of agricultural products" of the national project "International cooperation and export".
“The volume of sugar production in the Tambov region has increased markedly. Today, the region produces 20 times more sugar than the Tambov region needs. This makes it possible not only to provide neighboring regions with Tambov products, but also to increase exports,” said Maxim Egorov, Acting HEAD of the Tambov Region Administration.
