Altai Krai is one of the largest regions - producers and exporters of agricultural raw materials and foodstuffs. At the end of 2021, the EXPORT of agricultural products from the region amounted to 4 million 484 thousand tons for a total value of 432.1 million US dollars (in comparable prices in 2020 - 372.3 million US dollars). In relation to 2020, the increase was 9.8% and 23.6%, respectively. Thus, the Altai Territory has reached the target indicator of the regional project "Export of agricultural products".
At the end of 2021, in the ranking of regions in terms of exports in value terms, the Altai Territory ranked second in the Siberian Federal District and eighteenth in RUSSIA.
In 2021, agricultural products from the Altai Territory were shipped to 64 countries of the world (in 2020 there were 59 countries). The largest foreign trade partners were: Kazakhstan - 113 million US dollars (26% of total exports), CHINA - 86 million US dollars (20%), Uzbekistan - 31.4 million US dollars (7%), Latvia - 21.2 million usd (5%) and Mongolia - USD 18.7 million (4%).
The export of agricultural products from the Altai Territory in value terms for the period from 2017 to 2021 shows a steady growth. Over the past five years, the increase has been 2.3 times. The increase was ensured by an increase in shipments of grain and leguminous crops - by 12.3 times, oilseeds - by 2.5 times, cereals - by 2.1 times, oil and fat products - by 1.2 times.
At the end of 2021, the Altai Territory supplied 139 types of agricultural products (according to 4 characters of the TN VED code), in relation to 2020, their number increased by 47 positions. In the structure of exports, the largest share (16%) is occupied by wheat, which is in demand in Kazakhstan, Mongolia, and Azerbaijan. The share of cereal products amounted to 10.4%, the largest volumes of which were shipped to Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan and Belarus. Export of flax seeds amounted to 8.4%, with China, Belgium and Latvia as key importers. The growth driver in 2021 was rapeseed oil, the production of which increased by 38% compared to 2020 and amounted to almost 48 thousand tons in the amount of 31.9 million US dollars. The top three importers are China, Afghanistan and Israel.
Recall that within the framework of the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation dated July 21, 2020 No. 204 “On the national development goals of the Russian Federation for the period up to 2030”, the Altai Territory is implementing the regional project “Export of agricultural products”, which is an integral part of the federal project of the same name “International cooperation and export” .
