Festival "ProSYR" was held in the village of Streltsy, Tambov region

At the Craft Cheese Festival "ProSYR", which took place in the village of Streltsy, Tambov, Lipetsk and Ryazan cheese makers proved that their products compete quite successfully with Italian, French and Swiss ones.
There are more than two thousand types of cheeses in the world. Here on the shelves were presented about fifty varieties: hard and semi-hard, soft and brine, with mold and melted, spicy and with herbs, from cow's and goat's MILK. The tasting stimulated sales. Some cheese makers quickly sold everything they brought. Artisan cheeses aren't cheap, but that hasn't hindered demand.
Cheese makers received awards in four nominations: "People's Cheese", "Professionals' Choice", "Most Creative Cheese Maker" and "Grand Prix".
Perhaps, Tambov author's cheeses can claim the title of regional brands along with potatoes, apples, and ham.
“I am glad that tourism in our region has received a new impetus. Event-oriented and, as today, gastronomic are developing. Tambov residents actively participate in federal and international competitions and win. It's great that such wonderful people, true masters of their craft, live and work in the Tambov region," said Maxim Egorov, Acting HEAD of the Tambov Region Administration.
The festival of handicraft cheese "ProSYR" was not only a great gastronomic holiday for gourmets as part of the Day of the Tambov region, but also a fun family leisure. In addition to the festival gastronomic zone, the district administration organized several more venues in the park of the village of Streltsy - a concert, creative, children's with attractions, a picnic. The guests were entertained by Tambov and Moscow artists.
