More than 30 million tons of products worth 9 billion US dollars were exported,” said the deputy governor of the region -Minister of Agriculture and Food of the region Konstantin Rachalovsky.
The HEAD of the agricultural department noted that agricultural products were exported to almost 100 countries of the world. Angola and Mexico became new markets, and Indonesia for wheat. Sales to friendly African countries have increased significantly, exceeding a quarter of the total volume of Don agricultural exports. “We see CHINA
as one of the promising directions for increasing sales volumes of products produced on the Don . So last year, almost 660 thousand tons of agricultural products worth almost 293 million US dollars were supplied there , which is more than three times higher than the previous year,” said Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Rostov Region Elena Tolmosova. According to the Don Ministry of Agriculture, grains still make up the main share in total exports - about 71%. Oil and fat industry products account for 16% and other agricultural products , including food products – 13%. At the meeting, it was noted that last year the volume of exports of other agricultural products increased and amounted to 2.5 million tons worth 787 million US dollars. “In the new year, we will continue to work to increase the volume of exports of processed products, as well as the development of mutually beneficial partnerships with friendly countries in order to expand sales channels for agricultural products. We also plan to pay special attention in 2024 to the participation of enterprises in exhibition events, business meetings, and direct negotiations. This format allows us to directly connect our suppliers and foreign buyers and contributes to the growth of export volumes of agricultural products,” concluded Konstantin Rachalovsky.
