Specialists of the State Veterinary Service of the Rostov Region have carried out 3 million ectoparasitic treatments of farm animals and continue to carry out their “anti-tick watch”.
“As long as the thermometers show a positive temperature, veterinarians will carry out acaricidal treatment of livestock,” said Alexander Kruglikov, HEAD of the veterinary department of the Rostov region. - To prevent the occurrence and spread of infectious diseases in the Rostov region, farm animals are regularly treated for ticks.
The work is carried out by specialists of stations for the control of animal diseases subordinated to the veterinary department of the Rostov region.
Since the beginning of the season, the total number of animal treatments amounted to 1 million 386 thousand heads of cattle, 1 million 278 thousand heads of small cattle, 271 thousand heads of pigs and more than 2 thousand horses.
Pets should also be treated for ticks. This responsibility lies with their owners. There are different ways from the anti-tick collar to subcutaneous injection.
