On March 25, employers not only from the Sverdlovsk region came to offer jobs to young qualified specialists.

Spring meetings of employers and graduates of the Ural State Agrarian University have long become traditional. Their main goal is to help employers find young professionals, and students to choose the best option for employment and practice.

“The percentage of employment of graduates of the Ural State Agrarian University is quite high - by the end of 2022 it is almost 90%. However, many enterprises in the agricultural sector are in need of qualified young professionals, so the job fair is a good opportunity for a constructive dialogue between employers, young professionals and the administration of the university,” said Natalya Viktorovna Lomovtseva, Vice-Rector for Educational Activities and Digitalization of USAU.

At the job fair, graduate students personally got acquainted with employers, discussed the specifics of work and career growth, as well as other conditions, including the provision of housing. For other students, this is a great chance to get acquainted with the specifics of various agricultural enterprises and choose a place for internship.

“Our agricultural complex is located 25 km from Yekaterinburg with a developed infrastructure: a kindergarten, a clinic, a school, a sports complex. We are developing, therefore we invite a livestock specialist, a food industry technologist, a specialist in the field of agricultural mechanization, an electrician to our team and offer a competitive decent salary by city standards. In addition, we are ready to take 40 students for practice this year, ”said Ruslan Fazylovich Yamaletdinov, manager of the dairy farm of Baltymsky Agrocomplex LLC.

Representatives of leading agroindustrial enterprises, nurseries, veterinary supervisory authorities and other organizations came to meet with future young specialists. Among them are the Reftinskaya poultry farm, the Kamenskoye agricultural enterprise (Sinara Group), Rusagro, Teplichnoye (UMMC-holding), Tyumenagromash, the Sverdlovsky breeding poultry farm, the Art-Landshaft garden center and nursery ”, Artinskaya veterinary station and many others.

As part of the job fair, USAU hosted a round table, which was attended by USAU Vice-Rector for Educational Activities and Digitalization N.V. Lomovtseva, HEAD of the department for quality control of educational activities of the Ural State Agrarian University V.A. Kuimova, deans of the faculties of the university and employers.

The participants of the meeting discussed the issue of shortage of personnel in the industry and ways to solve it. The most important role in this work was given to targeted training.

“Ural Agrarian University is a leading educational institution in the industry, the university is constantly developing taking into account modern requirements. We have a large educational and experimental facility in which all students, without exception, have internships. And, despite the many positive aspects that employers today offer to young professionals in the form of lifting funds, for example, we see the best way to solve the issue of staff shortages in signing targeted contracts,” emphasized Pavel Viktorovich Sharaviev, Dean of the Faculty of Biotechnology and Food Engineering, USAU.

“Ideally, the employer should prepare young specialists from the first year, because by the end of the university, many graduates have already found a job. Our joint work should be focused on the faculty in this way: the employer makes demands, the university gives students the necessary knowledge and skills, since different enterprises have different specifics, different software and other details,” said Sergey Aleksandrovich Malanichev, Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Technologies and Land Management of USAU .
