Agrarians of the Krasnoyarsk Territory were advised to stock up on seeds for the sowing season of 2023

The Ministry of Agriculture of the Territory discussed the issues of interaction between farmers and seed producers and the prospects for the development of the seed industry in the region. According to industry experts, production planning, timely formation of the required volume of seed material will reduce the dependence of the domestic market on the supply of imported seeds and hybrids of agricultural crops.
“Support from the budgets of different levels is provided for the development of seed production in the region. Agricultural producers are reimbursed for the costs of elite seed production, agrotechnological work in this area, the production of original and elite seeds of grain and leguminous crops. This year, more than 200 million rubles have been allocated for these purposes. Funds are brought to farmers in advance. Farms will be able to plan the purchase of seeds for the sowing season of 2023,” said Ilya Vasiliev, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Trade of the region.
According to the Rosselkhoztsentr for the region, on average, about 230,000 tons of seeds of spring grains and legumes, 600 tons of corn and more than 2,000 tons of oilseeds are sown in the region. This year, farmers were fully provided with seeds of agricultural crops.
“Next year, there should be no questions on the supply of seeds of grain and leguminous crops. As for the seed material of vegetable crops, rapeseed and corn, only long-term supply contracts can serve as a guarantee, ”says Alexei Malinnikov, HEAD of the Rosselkhozcenter for the region.
Vasily German, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Dary Malinovki agricultural holding, is sure that it is necessary to conclude three-year contracts for the supply of seeds: “This will allow us to fix the price for the long term, reduce the risks of seed compliance with the stated requirements, and guarantee the availability of logistics services. Early contracting is also effective, especially for the purchase of imported seeds, and group purchases, for example, by a cooperative or association. Due to the large volume of delivery, you can count on a good price.”
"Gifts of Malinovka" specializes in the production of seed and ware potatoes, the cultivation of vegetables, cereals, oilseeds and fodder crops.
The head of the Zarya poultry farm, Igor Isaev, noted that it is necessary to develop the material and technical base of farms producing elite seeds in order to guarantee an increase in the production volume and quality of seed material.
Zarya is the region's largest producer of wheat seeds of the Elite category. The farm provides seed material to the region and neighboring regions. On its basis, a state variety plot operates, where more than 100 varieties and hybrids of grain, oilseeds and fodder crops are tested.
The heads of companies involved in the supply and sale of agricultural seeds also noted the importance of early planning for the purchase of seed. Anatoly Osikhov, chief agronomist of the SeDeK-Domodedovo research and production enterprise, announced the company's readiness to produce vegetable seeds in the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
“For high-quality preparation for the next agricultural year, the seed farms of the region will promptly provide the ministry with information about the available sowing material. The specialists of the department, in turn, will bring information about the volume of seeds to the specialists of the regional departments of agriculture, and the local administration to the agricultural producers, ”concluded Ilya Vasiliev.
