North Ossetian farmers complete sowing winter crops for 2025 harvest

A total of 45.8 thousand hectares have been sown with winter crops to date.
Traditionally, the main areas are allocated for wheat – slightly more than 30 thousand hectares. Winter barley occupies 3.5 thousand hectares, winter rape – over 12 thousand hectares. This year, the area under winter triticale has been increased to 325 hectares, which is 62% more than last year’s figure (200 hectares).
The main wedgewinter crops are located in the Mozdok district - 38 thousand hectares. All varieties of winter crops are of domestic selection. For high-quality field work, farmers in the region are provided with all the necessary material and technical resources: seeds, mineral fertilizers, agrochemicals, machinery and fuels and lubricants.
"A good harvest of winter crops opens up new opportunities for EXPORT. Products grown in North Ossetia are of high quality and competitive in foreign markets. The development of export channels allows local producers not only to increase sales volumes, but also to introduce new technologies that improve production efficiency," he noted.Minister of Agriculture Alan Kusrayev.
Let us recall that the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania is participating in the implementation of the federal project "Export of Agricultural Products", which ensures the achievement of the goals and indicators of the national project "International Cooperation and Export".
Sowing was carried out within the optimal agrotechnical timeframe for the Republic. According to the Hydrometeorological Center, in general, the agrometeorological conditions for winter crops in the Republic are satisfactory.
According to the results of the latest monitoring conducted by specialists of the Rosselkhoztsentr branch in the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, the condition of the majority of winter crops - 89% - is assessed as good and satisfactory.
