In this video we will show a cross of sheep in the first generation, whose mother is a South Kazakhstan Merino sheep , whose father is a Texel, as well as a hybrid of sheep of the Kazakh fine-fleece breed, and whose father is a Suffolk.
We are looking at a first-generation cross of sheep whose mother is a South Kazakhstan Merino, but Texel rams have been selected as the stud ram. The choice of the paternal breed is due to the fact that they are currently one of the leading meat breeds in the world and are characterized by high early maturity, fertility, marbling of meat and the absence of a specific smell.
This experiment is due to the fact that recently there has been a significant increase in demand for quality lamb meat at four to five months of age. At the same time, lamb should have a low cost and, accordingly, high profitability.
In addition, these breeds are in stable demand in Arab countries.
Therefore, sheep for the experiment are imported from Europe. The lambs obtained in this experiment will be fattened and subsequently the lamb will be exported . This crossbreeding experiment is carried out on a population of 10,000 sheep.
After crossing South Kazakhstan Merino sheep with Texel, scientists expect an increase in meat yield of up to 60%.
During control weighing, the ram showed a weight of 39 kilograms, and if the same rate of increase in live weight is maintained at 8-9 months of age, the rams of this group will weigh over 80 kg.
As a result of crossing, the cost will be reduced, income will increase , which will lead to an increase in the wages of the company’s employees. And this directly affects the well-being of the region’s residents.
