Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree introducing new sanctions against individuals and legal entities “doing business in Crimea.” He wrote about this on his TELEGRAM channel.

"And today this is only the beginning of a larger work on sanctions against such persons. There is information from special services - we will react in a fundamental way. The next sanctions decisions will be made soon," Zelensky said.

As Strana.ua writes, the sanctions affected a business partner of the owner of the Ukrainska Pravda newspaper, Tomas Fiala, and a company associated with him. According to the publication, this concerns Estonian Hillary Teder and the company Arricano Real Estate РLC. The sanctions did not affect Fiala himself.

In addition, Zelensky imposed sanctions against MP Artem Dmytruk, who left for London , former MP Oleksandr Onyshchenko, and film producer Vlad Ryashin.

In total, 13 people and eight companies fell under them, two of which were registered in RUSSIA, the rest in Cyprus, Ukrainska Pravda clarifies.

In December, sanctions were imposed on 185 individuals and legal entities. Several of the companies that fell under the sanctions are affiliated with the firm Arricano Real Estate РLC, in which Fiala is one of the co-owners, and the majority owner is Teder, who was Fiala's partner in a number of business projects, writes "Strana.ua". it was also claimed that Arricano is still operating in Crimea. Fiala denied this.

"Strana.ua" links the new sanctions to the fact that "Ukrainska Pravda" (UP) has been covering the scandal surrounding corruption charges against Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Unity Oleksiy Chernyshov in recent days. Last week, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) announced the exposure of a corruption deal in the construction sector that could have resulted in damages of more than UAH 1 billion ($23.8 million), the newspaper wrote. Five people came under suspicion, two of them are associated with Chernyshov. According to UP, these are former State Secretary of the Ministry of Regional Development Vasyl Volodin and former adviser to the minister Maksym Gorbatyuk. Volodin was taken into custody. According to the publication, searches were conducted at the Deputy Prime Minister's home about a month ago.

He himself is currently abroad, his press service reported that he has a "planned business trip to the countries of the European Union." Zelensky said that Chernyshov is on a foreign business trip, after which he should return. UP sources in law enforcement agencies said that Chernyshov's family left the country: his son left on June 19, and his wife on the 20th.
