Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he had imposed sanctions on captains of the Russian shadow fleet. In total, three new sanctions packages against RUSSIA have been prepared, one of which has already been put into effect.

"Today I held a meeting on our sanctions policy. Three sanctions packages have been prepared. And the first package has already been applied today - sanctions against the captains of the Russian shadow fleet," the Ukrainian president said in a video address.

Zelensky did not disclose the details of the new sanctions packages. At the same time, he emphasized that Ukraine will continue to synchronize its sanctions with international partners to increase pressure on Russia. At present, as Zelensky reported earlier, all 18 packages of sanctions against Russia approved by the European Union are fully synchronized and in effect in Ukraine . The EU introduced the last of them at the end of July. The restrictions affected 14 individuals, including citizens of CHINA , India and Iran, and 41 legal entities. Also under sanctions were 105 tankers and 22 Russian banks, including T-Bank, Yandex Bank, Ozon Bank.

In addition, this package provides for a reduction in the price ceiling for Russianoil  - from $60 (effective from 2022) to $47.6 per barrel, and also bans any transactions related to the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 pipelines. The HEAD of European diplomacy, Kaja Kallas, called this package “one of the toughest”.

Russia opposes Western restrictions. The Kremlin noted that Moscow has long adapted to life under sanctions and has developed a "certain immunity." President Vladimir Putin believes that countries that impose sanctions are acting "to their own detriment."
