The new US sanctions are a continuation of the policy of inflicting strategic defeat on RUSSIA, said the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, on the Rossiya-24 TV channel.
“[This is] a continuation of the policy of inflicting, as they put it, a strategic defeat on us. <...> But, as you understand, they won’t wait,” Zakharova said, commenting on the introduction of new sanctions against Russian individuals and legal entities.
The Foreign Ministry representative suggested that “there will probably be many more intrigues.” According to her, in Russia “they have learned to not only cope with everything, but also to use it in their own interests.”
On November 2, the United States imposed sanctions against dozens of individuals and legal entities from Russia. The list included AFK Sistema, Post Bank, Gazprom Neft structures, MSTU named after. N.E. Bauman, as well as designer Alexander Zakharov, who participated in the development of the Lancet drones, and members of his family.
In addition, the US Department of Commerce has limited the supply of American technologies and goods to 12 Russian companies. US authorities believe that the organizations added to the list support the Russian armed forces “through the procurement, development and distribution of Russian unmanned aerial vehicles.”
At the end of October, the press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov , said that Russia was not afraid of the prospect of maintaining sanctions for another five to ten years. “Russia has been living in this regime for decades and has adapted quite well,” he said, admitting that “attempts to contain our economy will continue.”
