The new sanctions target 11 individuals and 29 companies, and EXPORT restrictions have been imposed on a number of other organizations, including those from CHINA and Turkey. Tokyo has removed Prigozhin's mother and the deceased Russian military leaders from the lists

Japan has expanded sanctions against RUSSIA due to military actions in Ukraine ; 11 individuals, 29 organizations and three banks have been subject to restrictions, the country's Foreign Ministry website reports.

The sanctions list includes, in particular:

  • ALROSA CEO Pavel Marinychev;
  • First Deputy General DIRECTOR of Rostec Vladimir Artyakov;
  • General Director of PSV Technologies Sergey Petrov;
  • founder and CEO of the logistics company NOVELCO Grigory Grigoriev;
  • HEAD of the NPO Elektromashina Igor Afanasyev;
  • Head of the Testkomplekt company Ruslan Bulatov and others.

Among the organizations, the measures affected the Moscow Institute of Thermal Engineering, the Research Institute "Polus" named after M. F. Stelmakh, the special design bureau "Turbina", NPO Electromechanics, the Aleksinsky Chemical Plant and others. Sanctions were also imposed against CMRBank, RFK Bank and Timer Bank.

Tokyo imposed export restrictions on 22 companies from Russia and several other enterprises from China, Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, the UAE and Thailand. In addition, Japanese authorities banned the supply of 335 types of goods to Russia, including parts for special equipment.

Violetta Prigozhina, the mother of the late founder of the Wagner PMC Yevgeny Prigozhin, as well as Lieutenant General Oleg Tsokov and Colonel Georgy Shuvaev, who died during military operations in 2022 and 2023, were removed from the sanctions list.

Russian authorities call the sanctions illegal and demand that they be lifted.
