On July 5, the UK will introduce new sanctions against Belarus, including a ban on the import of iron and steel from the republic, the British Foreign Office said in a statement published on the government's website. New restrictive measures against MINSK will target products with a total value of 60 million pounds (over 4 billion Russian rubles).

London will ban the export to Belarus of refined oil products, a number of advanced technologies that are used in quantum computing, as well as luxury goods, including British art and designer bags.

In addition, the UK will limit the republic's access to "world-class British financial services" by banning "a large number" of Belarusian companies from issuing debt and securities in London.

Lukashenko announced his desire to “get out beautifully” from the situation with sanctions Politics

The reason for the introduction of new sanctions in the UK was called the fact that "the regime of [Belarusian President Alexander] Lukashenko continues to actively contribute" to the conduct of the Russian military special operation in Ukraine. London also announced the introduction of "transport sanctions against Belarus", but did not specify what specific measures they are talking about.

Lukashenka has repeatedly stated that "the Belarusian army has not taken and does not take any part in the hostilities." According to him, Minsk is not going to join the conflict, because "there is no need for this." In May, a check of troops “in case of war” began in Belarus, and in June the Belarusian Ministry of Defense announced “mobilization exercises” near the borders with Ukraine.

The Minister of Economy of Belarus Alexander Chervyakov called Western sanctions "economic genocide", BelTA informs. And Lukashenko said that RUSSIA and Belarus are able to cope with the sanctions pressure and other countries will “learn from them how to overcome” restrictive measures.
